On the far left side is the Search bar and a list of widgets; on the far right is the iPhone or iPad App Library. But all those screens in the middle are your Home Screen pages. Whether you're using 3D Touch or Haptic Touch, these actions act as shortcuts for the app.
Remember that you can create as many pages as you want and you can even repeat apps on different pages too. When you’re finished, tap Done in the top corner of your screen. Drop the app on the new page and tap anywhere to exit Jiggle mode. On your Home Screen, press and hold any app until your Home Screen starts to jiggle.
How to launch apps from the Home screen
In iOS 15, you can use Widgets to have access to all sorts of information on your Home screen. Press and hold down the On/Off button on the right side or top of your device for 3 seconds. Apple lets you "hand-off" the activity you're doing on one device so you can continue it on another.
All you need to do is simply swipe left on the Home Screen till you get to the last page. This is your iPhone App Library, and you should see all your apps categorically organized into folders on this page. And if recovery mode didn’t help solve your software issues, consider using DFU mode with your iPad instead, which offers a deeper level of software reset for your device. That way, you won’t get distracted by apps or games when you’re working out, studying, or having some quiet time. If you delete all the apps on a page, the page will automatically disappear. And in case you’re wondering, all the installed apps that aren’t in the Home Screen will go to the App Library instead.
From your Home Screen, swipe your finger to the left until you see the App Library. Your apps are sorted in the App Library by category. Learning to navigate your Home screen on iPhone and iPad isn't as easy as it seems. With all the new added features, like widgets and the App Library, it might not be clear where to even begin.
What is iPhone App Library?#
Swipe left or right on the Smart Stack to choose a size, then tap Add Widget. Make your changes, then tap outside of the widget. Touch and hold a widget to open the quick actions menu. You can also drag a widget from your Home Screen into Today View. To see widgets in Today View, swipe to the right on your Lock Screen or on the first page of your Home Screen. If you don’t like what you did, you can always hide or delete a page and start over.

Similar to how iOS show notification badges for apps on the Home Screen, the operating systems do the same for apps in App Library as well. To reorder the apps within a Smart Stack, press and hold the widget. Select “Edit Stack.” Then, tap and drag the individual apps to reorder them or tap a minus sign to remove one.
By default, iOS 14 & 15 and iPadOS 15 are configured to show newly-downloaded apps on the Home Screen. However, if you’re after that clean UI look on your Home Screen, you can choose to add new apps to the App Library only. Follow the steps below to do this. Now, every time you download a new app on your iPhone or iPad, it will go straight into the App Library. You can find it under the Recently Added app group for the time being, after which it will appear in one of the folders.
You need to tap the App store icon on your iPad in order to download and install apps. To unhide a page, repeat the steps above. Then you can use the App Library to quickly find apps hidden on different pages. Today View widgets are combined with Siri recommendations, and you can access them in the same way from everywhere, including the Home screen. Click the Home button to go to the main Home page.
